Praying that our music will be an encouragement to you!

"Did you think to Pray?" was on our very first album in 1982.   Prayer does not convince a reluctant God to pay attention to my need.  We learn through prayer to wait in His presence to hear and understand what God is doing and to get on board with His perfect plan.  He as a loving Father always delights to hear our requests -and shares the joy of each success, the burden of our deepest hurt, but His goal is to bring each of His children to a place of complete trust and confidence in the plan and purpose He has for each of us.   Too often I have started my day without really waiting to find out what the day is about.    S&J

    1. Ere you left your room this morning,
    Did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ, our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor
    As a shield today?
Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer can change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
      Don't forget to pray.

    2. When you met with great temptation
    Did you think to pray?
By His dying love and merit
Did you claim the Holy Spirit
    as you guide and stay?

    3. When your heart was deeply wounded,
    Did you think to pray?
Did you plead for grace, my brother,
    That you might forgive another
    Who had crossed your way?
Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
      Don't forget to pray.

    4. When sore trials came upon you,
    Did you think to pray?
When your soul was bowed of sorrow,
Balm of Gilead did you borrow
    At the gates today?
Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
      Don't forget to pray.
